WHEN REALITY KNOCKS
I try to calm down, just relax and let go, but how can I turn reality down when it knocks on my door? Every day now members of the Pine Cone family drops from the trees. I can actually see it happen from my studio window. Do I have eyes in my neck, or am I just very unfocused?
Whatever, the point is that up in the trees they live their lives, protected and happy, not aware of what might happen «down under». None of the cones who has dropped has ever returned, so the information is next to nothing.
Sweet little ones rolling around in the snow, playing games, laughing loudly and making themselves visible for whoever might be passing. A cat might be a treat, but compared to real danger it does not count.
Do you start to get the picture? Being a gardener I have to be realistic and see behind the beauty, so let us just come to the point.
The shadow itself was threatening, and could scare crows out of the trees. It was in the middle of the day, and light seemed to be absorbed by an unknown soundless power.
When the cones discovered the inevitable catastrophe it was too late. I just got a glimpse of the sweet patterned underwear of one of the baby girls, hanging in the mouth of one of the the beasts, as it turned around and disappeared into the woods.
This is what I have to be watching these days. I try hypnosis, I try meditation – everything without success as long as I can´t close my eyes…
(ref. Wiki-pedia: The Cones is a rare branch of the Pine Cone Family. They prefer areas close to people, but still quiet and a bit remote. By first glimpse they look like ordinary cones, but give them a close study and you will discover their similarities to humans. They also have a temper that can remind us of the human race; sweet, sly, friendly, aggressive, childish. They have a very short memory, and often forget about agreements.)
