It is nothing extraordinary about having visitors in a garden. It is actually one of the greatest pleasures to be able to share with likeminded – as in art. Sometimes I get this feeling that there is someone hanging around, someone unexpected. I will hereby introduce you to some of my visitors who have left indelible traces. The first one I want you to meet is Damien. Yes, the one and only Damien Hirst. You know, that guy with the cow, and the shark – and a loud of butterflies. He was here!!!!
And I assure you, he really enjoyed the visit – and so did I. We even made a piece of art together, a dance performance to be more specific. It is called «Damien dancing with frog». Normally Damien’s animal pieces are sealed works floating in liquid. This is the contrary. The mummified frog is flat and dry as a piece of paper.
I am so tempted to describe the elegance, the credibility and the groundbreaking qualities of the project, but I will let the pictures talk and leave the rest to you.
Damien could of course not stay for long. He is a busy bee that chap. Always on the move looking for new exciting possibilities. So for those of you thinking it might be worthwhile hanging around in my garden – just in case he pops up unexpected again, we have mounted a sculpture to enjoy. The «Frog on a pole» is a marvelous piece of art lifting my garden to a new level.
